The Ultimate Comfort

Hope mentioned that I was sick. I'm better now (OK, not 100% but getting there). A big part of my recovery has been the dogs. No better nurses are on the planet. While they can't bring juice or soup, or tissues, they provide a great service. Here are Dax and Ceilidh against my leg (I'm wearing my super-comfy pasta chef pants) on my bed being adorable and warm! What's amazing about this picture is that Ceilidh is actually touching Dax! (Is she making progress or did Ceilidh just feel so sorry for me that she made the ultimate sacrifice?)

The only time the dogs will allow the cat to touch them is when I'm in bed feverish and we're all piled in together. It may be a peaceable kingdom thing they have going.

It's true, pets are helping so much in getting healthy quickly. Wish you all the best!

I can relate...I've had this 2 week flu that's going around - I'm on day 11 and feeling a bit better but like you said, not 100%. My 2 dogs are so comforting, and far less demanding when I'm sick than they are normally - they really know when you need them.

Thanks, everyone - I'm feeling much better now, and I'm sure it's all thanks to the dogs as you said, wildcatsthree. You're right, Jan - Ceilidh won't let Dax touch her now. Thanks, Chica - I think there have even been published reports about pets helping people get better sooner!
