Hallelujah!

I'm happy to report that the new gollygear.com is up and running! All the products are up, all the pictures have been resized (I think!), credit card checkout is secure with our very own SSL certificate, and PayPal is also an option for payment! It's been a long, painful process, and more cleanup is under way, but the site is up and it works! The new site offers features like product reviews, and more great stuff that I haven't even begun to look at. It will be fun, though! We still offer the best variety of small dog harnesses out there. And we're only a phone call away to offer advice in choosing the best harness or other product for your little dog. We're the same, the products are even better, and our customers' shopping experience will be the best!

Training took a back seat yesterday while I was dealing with issues, but Booker and Tango will get some time this evening! - Fran

Roc's day

Thursday used to be "no dog day" here at Golly Gear. But we've amended that policy. We used to bring only our "working" dogs - the ones currently in training for competition in either agility or obedience. So there's usually a good excuse to take a break from actual work and go play with the dogs - we can alway justify "taking 10" to work on some aspect of training.
Then we realized that our "old" pups, Fran's Ceilidh and my Roc, were getting shortchanged! Just because they're retired doesn't mean they don't enjoy an outing. We do have to keep things rather low-key, both Roc and Ceilidh have serious heart conditions. But I think Roc's enjoying himself. - Hope

Spokesdog Teddy!

We're excited to launch our brand new Facebook GG Departments page featuring Hope's Teddy. We had a lot of fun taking the pictures. Three people wrangling one dog. About right, I think. Teddy is featured among items from the departments represented. He's peeking through the leashes, looking in the mirror trying to decide if that collar is right for him, and which treat to try! (Actually, Teddy has tried them all and liked all the treats!) - Fran

I'm absolutely thrilled to say the mess is gone! Our guys (love having "guys!) have finished laying the matting, put the gates back in place. We can't wait to get it cleaned up (I didn't have the nerve to ask them to wear booties), get our equipment in place, and open for business. I'd kind of like our dogs to be the first to step foot in the new ring - but if it doesn't happen, it's not the end of the world. We've been working so hard since we moved, it's tough to remember to come up for air and enjoy what we've accomplished. It seems a little silly to be so excited about a picture of an empty space - but all my doggy friends will understand what joy a thousand square feet of empty space can bring.

Wait! I think we've got one!

Whenever we get new products in the store, one of the first things we like to do is take them home, see how they fit and get some pictures of our dogs modeling them so that our customers will have some notion of what they look like in actual use.

This is much easier said than done. We got in new step-in harnesses, so last Sunday we brought home various sizes, colors, etc. to try on Golly, Ceilidh, Roc and Dax. Should be a piece of cake, right? All of them are obedience trained. Not so much. Golly is perfect, of course. But Roc is yapping. Which he does perpetually when outside. And with so many things moving (leaves, mostly) there's plenty to yap about! Just ask him!

Then there's Dax, who finds every inch of ground absolutely fascinating to sniff. When she's moving. When she's exhausted all the delightful smells, she finds a nice patch of sunshine and she sits in it - without moving.

Not moving is a problem for Ceilidh. Sitting still is almost visible agony for this girl. She'd much rather dance around on her hind legs. Which, we concede, is very cute. But not very useful in trying to get some good product shots.
